HOOPS FOR HEART

Reuther will be hosting our annual “Hoops for Heart” basketball tournament. The tournament will take place on Tuesday, March 28, during 5th and 6th period. A donation of $20 or more to the American Heart Association will be your ticket to attend. Participants will receive a t-shirt, which will be worn the day of the event. Collection envelops and informational forms will be on the desk in the main office. Reuther is always one of the top fundraising schools in Oakland County. Let’s make this year our best fundraising year ever! Get involved today to help save a life!

Lost and Found
STUCO news

Attention 8th graders interested in joining Student Council at the High School or being a Leader for your school. The Rochester High School Student Council is hosting the "Leadership Kitchen" on May 5th, 4th through 6th hours. The cost is $15; food, transportation, and a t-shirt is provided. See Mrs. Rossell or Mrs. Bodell for permission slips. The money and permission slip is due March 31st.

Are you in 8th grade? Do you like archery, Art, BB Gun or Air Rifle Shooting, PS hiking, Kayaking, learning about invasive species, touring lighthouses, Learning outdoor survival skills, quarrying for rocks and minerals, sailing, snorkeling, learning to swim, yoga, fishing and then filleting your own fish? Can you be away from your family for a week? If you answered yes to any of these questions then the 4-H Great Lakes and Natural Resource camp maybe for you. If this sounds that an opportunity that may interest you, see Mrs. Rossell for more information. Scholarships are available!!!!

The 12th annual 5K Hometown Hustle fun run/walk is just around the corner! Saturday, May 13, 2017 to be exact!
The RCS Foundation supports and advances learning for all students by obtaining contributions for academics, arts, and athletics. Please consider putting on your running shoes and joining us for our signature fundraising event to provide targeted support for the district's Global Awareness initiatives in K-12 Education. Global awareness is one of the three focus areas in the Rochester Community School District's Strategic Plan.
The RCS Foundation is holding a friendly competition for your participation! The school with the MOST participants will receive a banner to display in their building. One banner will be awarded at the elementary, middle and high school level!

AIA Books for sale in Library
Neal Shusterman's books will be on sale during the months of February and March in the media center. Students who purchase books will be able to get them signed by the author when he comes to visit Reuther on April 25.
Meet Author in April Neal Shusterman
Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, Neal Shusterman at age 22 wrote a nationally syndicated humor column after graduating from college. He was the youngest syndicated columnist in the nation.
Since his debut, he has written novels, screenplays and television scripts. He has written for both the “Goosebumps” and the "Animorphs" TV series. Mr. Shusterman has adapted several of his novels for TV. He has recently written the screenplay, Pixel Perfect for The Disney Channel.
Mr. Shusterman is well-known as a storyteller. His degrees in both psychology and drama provide him with a unique background for writing. Mr. Shusterman’s novels feature believable characters involved in challenging and sensitive situations. He weaves his stories together with a sense of humor that will engage readers of all ages.
