MARCH IS READING MONTH RECAP

This year's March is Reading month was truly magical! Our library was transformed into Hogwarts by the members of our Teen Advisory Board. We had book trivia, reading contests, door decorating contests, Read-a-Latte, and Books Come Alive. In the three weeks we logged minutes we collected a grand total of 107,576 minutes!

Our top readers for the month were
  1. Ashnoor K. reading 5,607 minutes
  2. Abdulomoiz K. reading 5,100 minutes
  3. Anna Z. reading 4,093

The Reading House Cup winners were Ravenclaw who read a total of 42,181 minutes. The winning homerooms include
  • Mrs. Chynoweth
  • Ms. Hubbard
  • Mrs. Keinath
  • Mrs. Knox
  • Ms. Koutrovidas
  • Mrs. Inza
  • Mr. McKee
  • Mr. Staugaard

The Triwizard Cup was awarded to the individual homeroom who read the most minutes. Congratulations to Ms. Koutrovidas's homeroom. They read a total of 10,996 minutes!

Books Come alive

We had 32 students participate in our first Books Come Alive event. Students got to experience the world of Harry Potter like never before. They attended Hogwarts classes, were sorted into their houses, played Quidditch, competed in a Horcrux hunt, and battled in HP trivia. It was a great experience for all! We are already looking forward to next year when we bring the Percy Jackson series to life! Take a moment and watch a video recap of this year's event.

Our heartfelt thanks
