Return to REmote learning information
We recently received updated guidance that we are returning to temporary remote learning beginning tomorrow, Thursday, November 5th. In an effort to prepare our students and families for this transition, please read the following bullet points below.
- All students should follow the remote learning schedule found below.
- All students (no longer divided into Cohorts A & B) should be reporting to their classes (1, 2, & 3) tomorrow in Google Classroom. They will need to log in using their RCS Google Account and will find the link to the Class Zoom Meeting within each of their Google Classrooms.
- If students have technical issues or questions, they should use this form to get assistance: https://form.jotform.com/200796564319059
- All middle school sports are paused at this time until further notice. We will continued to keep you informed of any changes.

RCS 1:1 Device Pickup
Earlier this year, RCS committed to becoming a 1:1 district, providing every RCS student with equitable access to a device. We are pleased to share that Chromebooks are arriving and our technology teams are preparing to deploy them in the coming weeks. With our reliance on multiple learning environments and technology-enhanced instruction at this time, device deployment is a districtwide priority.
Chromebooks will be provided to all RCS students who are in need of a device. If students prefer to use their own personal computer or laptop from home, they should not check out an RCS Chromebook. As we maximize our budget and resources, we encourage families to be considerate and only check out district devices that will be used.
No action is required for those students who were already issued an RCS Chromebook earlier this year. This will become their 1:1 device. If, however, your student has an RCS laptop, our technology teams will be contacting you at a later date to exchange it for a standardized Chromebook, so that laptops can be returned to mobile labs in our schools. Instructions will follow.
For those families who require a Chromebook for their students, please mark your calendar for these upcoming device distribution dates:
Monday, Nov. 2 from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Grades 6-12, including the RCS Virtual Campus and special education
Tuesday, Nov. 3 from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Grades TK-5, including the RCS Virtual Campus and special education
Wednesday, Nov. 11 from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Make-up day for all grades and programs
Devices will be distributed from the Dr. John M. Schultz Educational Campus located at 1440 John R Road in Rochester Hills. Please see diagram and instructions below.

Mindfulness journal for students, parents & staff!

Mrs. Mainero created a 30 day mindfulness journal for students, parents, and staff in our community. It is a quick 3-minute journaling page to focus on the good in the morning and then reflect on the day in the evening. It is an editable PDF you can download. It can be printed or filled out on a computer and saved each day. We hope it can give some structure to focus on something good during this challenging and traumatic time.
