7th Grade Educational Development Plans (EDP)

In 7th grade Mrs. Suhajda recently shared a career exploration opportunity through Language Arts classes. An EDP Direction Sheet along with a video of their counselor taking them through the activities will be used to lead students through the process. Mrs. Suhajda will also offer live Help Sessions. The focus of the experience is to build self-knowledge, personalized plans and career awareness. Students take simple interest and learning inventories. They platform for this online investigation is XELLO (formerly Career Cruising). Through the XELLO program, counselor video, and live Zoom Help Sessions counselors hope to help students make connections between their interests, their personality, possible career clusters and plans for their future. XELLO has so much to offer students! Please ask your students to show you their EDP once they have completed the process. This EDP process continues each year throughout middle and high school and each year they will complete additional activities. The 7th grade activities include:

  • Favorite Clusters
  • Matchmaker
  • Learning style
  • After High School Goal
  • Skills, Interests & Experiences
  • Discover Learning Pathways (optional but recommended)
  • Biases & Career Choices (optional but recommended)

Students are able to log into their XELLO EDP account using the following link using their Google/Gmail  login information - https://auth.xello.world/Google/Student/55277b54-e241-4e2a-b631-c83dcfe92b9b

GAP Program

Students may receive a total of five (5) points by the end of the 3rd marking period for community service. In order to receive five points, a student must accumulate 15 hours of community service. Signatures are required to verify your participation as well as a parent signature.

Community service is helpful work you do for members of your community or the community at large.
  • You should NOT be paid for this work.
  • You must do the work under the supervision of, or with the approval, an adult. That adult should sign your form when you finish.
  • Work done with a scout troop, church group, or other organization may count.

EXAMPLES:
  • Rake leaves for an elderly neighbor.
  • Clean up a local park.
  • Help at a local soup kitchen.
  • Baby sit (unpaid) at your church so adults can attend a service or meeting.

MAKE CERTAIN your parents know what you are planning to do BEFORE you do it.

You may work on this goal all during the first three card marking periods.

Mindfulness journal for students, parents & staff!

Picture

Mrs. Mainero created a 30 day mindfulness journal for students, parents, and staff in our community. It is a quick 3-minute journaling page to focus on the good in the morning and then reflect on the day in the evening. It is an editable PDF you can download. It can be printed or filled out on a computer and saved each day.  We hope it can give some structure to focus on something good during this challenging and traumatic time.
