march is reading month
Today starts our month-long March is Reading Month celebration. One of the key features of this year’s celebration is a Read-a-thon. Sponsors can pledge an amount for the minutes students will read or donate a flat rate. All proceeds will go to The Rainbow Connection, an organization in downtown Rochester that helps to make dreams come true for Michigan children with life threatening medical conditions. The mentors homeroom and news homeroom has challenged the school to raise $4,000. Students received a copy of the pledge sheet this morning in homeroom. An extra copy is attached for your reference. Completed pledge form and money is due Friday, March 23.
So what will happen if we reach our pledge goal? If the school collects $3,000, we will have a staff versus student volleyball game. If $4,000 is collected, Ms. Moore will dye her hair. For each additional $500 raised, another teacher will dye their hair. Will you help us read with a purpose this month and help make a difference? |

CRITICAL INCIDENCE TEAM SUMMARY
Student Safety--arrival & Dismissal
Come help us paint a new plow for this winter season.

The busiest times of the day are Student Arrival & Dismissal. When students are racing for the bus and parents are lined up in the loop, it is important for us all to observe the following guidelines:
As the weather changes and the mornings become darker, please be extra careful to look out for our students who are walking and riding their bikes to school. While we are fortunate to have upgrades at the intersections of Auburn/Culbertson and Culbertson/Marlowe, it is still so important for those of us dropping off or picking up students to be mindful of those students who are walking!
Student safety is always our priority – please join us in keeping all of our students safe!
- Please use the parent loop in the front or rear of the building for student drop off. Please do not drop off or pick up your student in the parking lot--this is very dangerous!
- Please do not walk in between the buses. This is extremely dangerous.
- Please do not walk or cross through the bus loop by going into the road during this time.
- Please use the sidewalks between the parking lot, drop off loop and building entrances.
